American Indian Heartland Cancer Network Minutes

November 20, 2002

Seton Center

Board Chairman Wayne Johnson opened meeting of the American Indian Heartland Network.

Mr. Johnson introduced Kim Kimminau, Vice President for research, of the Kansas Health Institute, in Topeka Kansas. Kim mentioned they are having a Minority Health

Summit in Wichita Kansas, at the Mid-American all Indian Center, December 11, 2002.

10am-4pm she gave an invitation to the Network to attend, when details are finalized we will be notified and a notice will be sent to the Network.

Dr. Semoza’s report on the Cancer Summit Conference at Haskell University was not well attended, and future summits should be held else where. The survivors of Cancer speakers were well accepted. Everyone enjoyed listening and doing the beads.

Much of the discussion at this meeting was focused on the Potluck Dinner to be held at the North Kansas City Community Center, December 7, 2002 from 1:00PM-4:00PM,

A brochure will be sent out to the network

Yesterday I sent an e-mail to all of the addresses I have, I failed to mention the date and time of the next Network meeting, it will be January 15, 2003, at 9:30 am. Hope all will be able to attend.

Thank You,

Rose Miller

Secretary, American Indian Heartland Cancer Network
