Amy Dreweatt, on behalf of the American Cancer Society, hosted this meeting.

Virginia Eaves called the meeting to order.

Introductions and affiliation followed.

Symposium Discussion: Upcoming (Regional) American Indian Conference, in November 2004, Kansas City. Place:  To Be Announced.  Keynote Speaker: Wilma Mankiller  See:  www.cieo.com/A/Symposium.pdf. An interdisciplinary event on understanding and working with American Indian culture from perspectives which include health, education, employment, and housing issues and problems.  Expected enrollment: 300 to 400. Conference Chair:  Chris Molle (816-471-4898).  Symposium Committee Meeting: August 5, 2004, 9:00 AM, Pioneer College, Vine & Prospect, KCMO.  Members were urged to recruit Native American presenters and all interested persons as attendees to gain understanding of Indian culture. Each was asked to bring in to the next meeting or mail out their own mailing lists to alert our communities of this coming event.

The next Integrated Cancer Conference is slated for March 11, 2005.  The Kansas City Cancer Coalition is scheduling a planning meeting on August 23, 2004 at 8:30 AM at Cancer Action, 18th & Minnesota Ave, KCK. 

AIHCN will forego a "Back to School" school supply for grade school children this year due to an already heavy schedule.  However, some supplies are still available for those who need and request them.

Amy Dreweatt stated ACS will be hosting a session, August 2, 2004 at the ACS offices at 67th & Antioch for the "Look & Feel Better" Program.  She asked for help presenting a medical perspective to trainees so they will understand what an oncology patient might be or have gone through.

Melinda Ramirez stated three of the seven outings for mammograms would be held in September, October, and one in November, to replace the last one, which was skipped.
